Government & 8A

An Alaska Native Corporation (ANC), Wētaviq was recognized as a participant in the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disadvantaged Small Business 8(a) program in 2005.

As an 8(a) firm, Wētaviq qualifies to receive sole-source contracts of any amount from certain clients. When using the sole-source contracting mechanism, clients benefit from the streamlined contracting process and flexibility in defining scope of work.

An additional benefit of the SBA 8(a) program is that clients are assured that bonding, insurance, and other legal requirements are met. Every year Wētaviq provides information on our ownership, management, operating structure, experience, and financial standing to maintain our 8(a) status.
